Academic leadership and service
I build programs, research collaborations, and shared resources that help people do their work.
Engagement with the profession
Through the Labor and Employment Relations Association, I have served on and co-chaired the program committee for its winter conference at the Allied Social Sciences Association. I have helped organize conversations between researchers and practitioners, including connections between research on labor market power and the employment relations community.
My service has also included the LERA dissertation award committee and the board of the Chicago chapter.
Community partnerships
As a co-principal investigator of the Quinlan Social Impact Initiative, I worked with organizations supporting Chicago’s small businesses. I helped organize the 2024 and 2025 “Capacity Building for Capacity Builders” workshops, bringing business-serving organizations together to exchange experience, strengthen collaboration, and identify shared challenges.
This work connects research with practical questions about how organizations find support and how service providers coordinate their efforts.
Graduate education and faculty support
As Senior Associate Dean for Graduate Programs and Faculty Affairs at Loyola’s Quinlan School of Business (January 2023–September 2024), I worked with faculty and colleagues on curriculum, teaching support, and academic operations.
From July 2021 to June 2024, I directed Loyola’s undergraduate and graduate human resources programs and the Institute of Human Resources and Employment Relations. In those roles, I advised students, worked with instructors, and connected program development with teaching and practice.
Research resources as a contribution to the field
Building useful research data takes collaboration, documentation, and sustained investment. My work on job postings and franchise documents includes developing open tools and working with researchers and practitioners to make information more accessible and useful while respecting data restrictions.
I presented the workforce-information work at the inaugural NLx Research Hub Connect conference in 2025. The JAAT research companion brings together results, methods, code, and demonstrations for researchers and workforce-information professionals.
